At the occasion of Afghanistan's Independence Day, August 19th, 2020, Hermes Publishing releases a ​book of Afghan popular poetry, known as "Landey".

 

In this book, the Norwegian poet Erling Kittelsen, in collaboration with Parkha Atal and Dewa Wolasmal Babakarkhail, presents translations of a number of Landey poems – primarily collected in Afghanistan by the Norwegian linguist Georg Morgenstierne (1892–1978).

The book is an outcome of the Norwegian Institute of Philology's Landey Project.
